Sugar snaps have edible pods which makes it different from other peas. The have round bulging pods and contain star shaped apex on the stalks sides and tails. Its peas are tender while the pods are crisp and juicy. Sugar snaps are eaten whole in its pod while still unripe and they are crunchy and have sweet taste. They are essential healthy vegetables due its fibrous nature They grow in a climbing format and the may need support for further growth and best yields. They are grown in Kenya highlands under cool temperatures. They are available in January, February, May until October and December.
