About French Beans
French beans are the unripe, young fruit of various cultivars of the common bean. Immature or young pods of the French bean are consumed. It is a colored vegetable, of variable shape and size, with 4-6 seeds inside. They are green-colored, they are pole climbing type depending on the varieties. French beans are smaller than common beans and have a soft, velvety pod. Quite fleshy for their size, sweet and crunchy. French beans are locally term as Michiris in Kenya due to many rows of produce, and pods and whole made for exports and local market consumption.
